MIKE DUNN

Mike is a level 3 NCCP coach and has been coaching Junior High and High School wrestlers since 1986. Throughout his career, his wrestlers have earned over 30 National Championships, including 5 in 2017.

Mike prides himself in seeing the growth and development in young men and women. He specializes in building hard working, intense, highly technical, and fun wrestling practices and training schedules.

He believes, more than anything, that a commitment to wrestling is a commitment to preparation for life’s future endeavors.

Mike’s educational foundation is built off of 20 years of teaching, as well as a Masters in Education, a Bachelors in Education, and a Bachelors in Physical Education. A more detailed list of his accolades are in point form below:

  • Teacher for the Calgary Board of Education from 1993-2009

  • Head Coach of The Roc 2009 – present

  • Head Coach of King of The Mat 1994 – Present

  • Four Time Alberta Coach of the Year

  • Two Time Alberta Outstanding Contributor

  • Alberta Winter Games Coach 1989, 1995 (Zone 3)

  • 2012 and 2014 Team Alberta Head Coach at the Stu Hart Tournament

  • 2013 Canada Games Coach

  • Team Leader for the Team Canada Japan Tour in 2003, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2017
